Jen, I shall be sending positive vibes your way for the rest of the week! And next week as well, for you sound as though you need them.
Work is over-rated, though I did get a payrise recently. And I have a week's holiday coming up rather soon. And christmas break (I get a week off) is coming up. All of which make the whole thing much more bearable. The work I'm doing's getting better (more engineering) too, which makes it nicer.
I'm up way too late for a weeknight. This silly boy's going to be tiredtomorrow later today.

On my way to climbing this afternoon, I saw a couple of storm troopers walking along. It was weird. Especially when they started saying "May the force be with you".
Another cyclist was turned around in his seat to look at them, and nearly collided with me.
That is all.

On my way to work this morning, there was a blue vibrator sitting in the gutter on the side of the road, lost and forgotten, but with a battery laying beside it. Just across the footpath was an adult shop.
My reconstruction of possible events goes something like this:
Of course, it may not have happened anything like that. I should get back to work.
My reconstruction of possible events goes something like this:
- 9:45pm - Inside Store
- Everything has been closed up for a while, and it's very dark. Blue is all alone, and worried that he's going to be beaten up again. Blue decides that running away is the only option.
- 9:55pm - Inside Store
- Blue has wriggled free of his packaging, and has thrown himself off his shelf. The fall has stunned him, but he hasn't sustained any serious injuries.
- 10:10pm - Inside Store
- Blue has come to, and is making his way slowly towards the crack in the wall that hasn't yet been boarded up. He slips quietly through. Freedom!
- 10:13pm - Northern Side of Store
- Blue is enjoying the cool night air, and sense of freedom. He sets out across the footpath, down the gutter, and over the road. Unfortunately, he knows nothing of cars.
- 10:16pm - Road in Front of Store
- A yellow falcon station wagon strikes Blue, killing him instantly, and throwing him across the road into the gutter. He remains there until a curious child picks him up to take home and draw a moustache on.
Of course, it may not have happened anything like that. I should get back to work.

Death by gore-met lamb sausages
The first few were soooo good, then the oil and fat took hold, and coated my mouth, and oozed through my veins. I am so sorry now. The marinated kangaroo steak would have been a far superior choice.
In other news, I'm moving house! Found out today that our rental application (blergh, crazy idea) was accepted, and we can move in the weekend after next! Shall be crazy busy fun.

Woah, this blog is over 4 (yes, four (yes, IV)) years old. It may be even older, if there are lost archives that are no longer with us.
DOES ANYONE KNOW?
I'm looking at you, Ben, Elise, Zoe (and the absent Wendy)...
Where's everyone else, anyway?
Yeah, now I'm just being a bastard...

I feel sorry for the poor bees Jen! If they're not angsty teen emo bees with bad stinging habits, then I'm rather fond of bees. They're so fuzzy, and they look cool when they're investigating flowers.
There were ducks swimming past my work this morning as I was stretching to warm down. I wish I'd had my camera. I really need to take it to work more, we get ducks, pelicans, cormorants, and other, less interesting birds, all the time.
I need to cut my hair, I'm starting to look like a lego man again (complete with yellow skin, no knees or elbows, and weird-as hands).

Oh why do you have to wear proper clothes? I have no problem wandering around in pyjamas, if the world wants to look then that's their problem. I don't care.
A whole half decade you say? So true. And the reunion of most of the people from school that I still talk to will fall pretty close to that date, too. And their shall be beer and frivolity. Zoe, Jen, and whoever else should come to Siddony for that weekend too.
Yeah, I go out West for work early Saturday. Kinda looking forward to it in a way, I don't have to think a whole lot for a week and I get to just shift stuff and drink beers after work. I'm actually out of the office for most of the rest of the year.... score!
But for now, it's back to being the monkey...

Half a decacde you say? That's scary, kinda, sorta not really at all. So much has happened since then, but not nearly enough.
I've been a lazy bastard, and it has to change! Who knows how, or why, or if it's even possible, but *stamps foot*.
Next month! Rendezvous! Mini school reunion, mini MIAO get together. Ben and Elise's place, weekend of December 10-11. It's going to be a fantabulous, funtastic blast! Can't wait, my pants are on fire.
Anyway, I wasn't even going to turn my computer on this morning, and planned to get to work early. Then the promise to myself was that I could turn my computer on, only if I wrote another few hundred words on my novel. Haven't done that yet, and it's been 20 minutes. *Panic* Catch you later guys!

South African Woman Killed by Bee Swarm

Sorry guys, just seemed pertinant. Bees are bad! Don't mess with them! mmkay
OHANNESBURG, Nov 8 (Reuters) - A South African woman was killed by hundreds of thousands of enraged bees after her vehicle hit an electricity substation that contained their hive, an emergency services group said on Tuesday.
"The car crashed into an electrical substation in Johannesburg which housed a bee hive. It was 10 years old and had in excess of a million bees and they just went wild," said Paul Nel, spokesman for Netcare 911, a private paramedic and ambulance service.
"The people managed to stumble out of the car but they were just overcome by bees," he said. The incident occurred on Monday.
He said the woman died at the scene while her husband was recovering in hospital. Local media reported that the woman was in her early 60s but Nel said he could not confirm her age.

Damo, Anthony, it's nearing half a decade since we left school.
What the fuck.

Dammit! I got painted! From about 10 storeys up!
I don't know if I brushed it all out of my hair or not, there might still be a light blue patch there, but at least it's not sticking together.
Yesterday was crazy, I got the final word that I could take three weeks off work to go to the blue mountains, and then paid for said trip. They were convinced that I needed a new computer, and so it's arriving in a couple of weeks. Both together made me feel kinda valuable, bizarre!
So yes, Ben, Elise, anyone else in Sydney, tell me when visiting will suit. Between November 26 and December 16 or so!
Then went and inspected a house, and it was rocking, so Tristan, Teresa and I put in an application to rent it, should hear by tomorrow arvo. Would be awesome if we get it, and I'll be devestated and lost if we don't. hmms
My poor novel is still very neglected, haven't looked at it in nearly a week, failure is looming. Duh Doh Doooom

I feel like a fat, bloated whale on the fluffy shores of my bed. I ate too much, and then rode home, leading to moderate gastro-intestinal protest as a result of poor treatment.
Jen, I think you should wait until exams are over until you decide what you're going to do! Because your head may explode anyway, and major life decisions should not be made while uni is eating your soul in a massive feeding frenzy... or something.
I have a revelation: Damo is the result of genetic manipulation involving implanting sloth genes into humans. It also explains why he goes green and mossy in the rain...

Guys, I'm wrapped that all this posting is going on. It's made me realise just how gaudy this colour scheme is.. or something.
So, Jen, I'm sorry to hear what may or may not be happening with you. I hope you're doing OK and I'm sure that either way things will be alright in the end. Good luck with whichever path you take!
Also regarding the corporate ladder climbing. I didn't really climb much. I was kind of gently lowered to two or three rungs from the top. It also had nothing to do with my job at officeworks, unfortunately.
How long are you in America for, Zoe? We're going to Melbourne in early December so I suppose you'll still be gone then. I'll be back soon, I need to juggle some monies.
CHOW
Also, 700th post Damo!

You guys are fantastics! I look away for 2 seconds (or there abouts) and am inundated with more awesomeness.
Am so in for catching up with drinks and frivolities, somewhere, somehow. Perhaps we should organise a maybe it's all over fan club, and they can shower us in praise, and get us all together. That would be super cool.
Ladder climbing sounds way scary, there's a street performer up here who climbs up a ladder, and balances at the top. He then proceeds to juggle a couple of pirate swords and an apple, while taking bites out of the apple, and trying not to cut his face open with the swords. You should get some swords Ben, to maintain discipline, and perform impromptu lobotomy's at work.
My book is a tradgedy at the moment, not by genre, but by progress. I started out reasonably, and now haven't written anything for five whole days. The motivation, it has jumped ship and escaped. Clues on where to find it would be much appreciated. As would needling to get my act together and pour out more bad fiction.
I'm thinking about working a corporate finance lecturer crush into the story Jen, can't remember whether it's there or not yet. Reading back what I've written is a definite no-no, at least until the end of the month. If you're up in Brisbane I'm sure some hot climbing boys could be arranged, don't know about the matt damon arms, but, maybe.
Chow guys, mischief ahoy!

Jen I live in Queensland too! Where, currently, it's looking like even more rain. Again.
Ben, I hear you on work sucking - I lose at least part of both of the next two weekends. Both of which I had a whole lot of stuff kinda planned on, which I'll now miss out on. As opposed to this weekend, which is damp and pretty boring really. The trade-off between having money and having a life I suppose.

Holy shit guys and girls, how the hell is everyone?
I've been busy as hell, as you can all imagine. I've just had my birthday in Fremantle, which was not so fun, and work's been a huge bitch. I am however staying up late listening to quality tunes and I'd like to announce that the Shins are playing in our fair country again in January, DON'T FORGET TO BUY TICKETS.
So, we've got Damo, Anthony, Jen, Elise and Zoe back where they belong. How cool is this? There's also 693 posts to our name. We all ought to meet up some time and have a drink or eight. Who's in?

Anthony, that is pretty much the aim, I just haven't managed to strive for it properly yet. I'm also being sort of good and not trying to do any at work. Not that I'm getting anything else done at work, just want to go to sleep. Feel ugh
Was dragged into a Melbourne cup lunch, do, thingy, which wasn't so bad, I just didn't eat enough.
*ponders*, maybe should just go home now, it's next to pointless staying here. *sigh*

Damo, if you're still making any sort of sense then you're obviously not trying hard enough. I want to be seeing completely random character development and bizarre lack of plotline! Also unrelated backstory and marginally-related tangent stories about otherwise minor characters. I thought the whole aim of the thing was for sheer, unadulterated volume, none of this quality crap!
I should turn into a gelatinous blob, it'd be sooooo cool.
Writing a novel is hard, I have 75 words, they are crap, but it doesn't matter. I have to let go of my inner editor, send it away for a while, convince it a holiday is needed.
Things are not going to end well.
Still mostly sane
Damien

Guys, I believe I am finally developing some reasonable muscle definition and stuff. This is evidenced by this photo:

Did anyone else get dressed up for Halloween? I went to a party on Saturday as a bunyip, which got variously misinterpreted but was regarded as successful nonetheless.
Jen, you what now? That's just weird.
