well THAT just bites damo, how come they changed their mind about giving you money eh? 'useless' is a useless term in the post preceeding, not to mention just ridiculous.. - XiS are fine and dandy for myself right now.. but 17, nonetheless.
*wraps elise in cotton wool* can't hurt yourself now, and hell, youre tonnes comfortable what with all that cotton wool! - the ghost train deserves to be punished.. block up its exit door, send a carriage in and set fire to it. *eye twitch*

Alright, I'm seeing some counter-productivity in asylum seekers (leaving their country to escape injustices, torture and/or death) sewing their lips shut, undergoing said torture, and possibly risking death. As understanding as I am of these people wishing to leave their country (if I were in the same situation, I'd take any opportunity to leave, too) isn't that just a little.. backwards? I don't have complete faith that the government is processing visa applications for these people as fast as they might be able to, but i don't really *know* so I can't comment on that.. and I can't comment on the living conditions in the detention centres (which im sure aren't all that great.. but there's obviously food.. other wise a hunger strike would be out of the question) but isn't it even a smidgen better than going back?
...but I'm sure there's more to it, and in no way see this as a black and white issue.. *end social issues foray*
