Next month is going to be totally insane!

The uni rockclimbing club I'm a member of takes a trip down to the blue mountains for three weeks at the end of every year. Last year I made it for one week, which was great, but not enough, this year I want more! Talking to my boss at work it sounds like there's a reasonable chance I could take three weeks off, if the project work here is running to schedule. I'm going to go crazy at work keeping things on track.

To climb well in the blue mountains, I'm going to want to climb as much as possible before hand. Crazy climbing shenanigans.

Not too long ago I heard about National Novel Writing Month, where people all over the world, challenge themselves to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. The emphasis is definitely on quantity, not quality. It's not really something I'd ever had on my list of things to do, but, I always end up delaying doing things, because they won't be great. This could be a way to beat it out of me, and send me batshit insane at the same time. Some of you guys should try it too!

Although I'm quite content where I'm living, plans are afoot to move into a house somewhere with a couple of friends from climbing. The intended time to move being around the end of November. So house hunting, organising everything, and moving, get thrown into the chaotic bizarroness that next month shall become.

Not quite 7 days to go... *buckles up*

Oh noes! You've found out that I'm lazy!! :O
It's true :(

Seeing as how, once again, I have no idea when I last posted, or what's happened since then, there's probably a fair bit to say.

Back in Brisbane, but you probably know that. Was getting the dole, centrelink was crap, and made me to go a Work For the Dole (WFD) thingy, that was rather icky. My unbounded hatred of MS Publisher made it so. Before the WFD, I did have an interview for a job, that sounded okay, and interview went well, but I didn't get it.

Two months later, same guy from interview, called me back in because the dude they had hired had left. A second interview later, and I'm now employed!

Working casual 4 days a week at Queensland Institute of Medical Research, bashing away at some crazy Java (equals Death) Database (I know nothing!) for tracking lots of information and bio specimens for a few cancer studies. Into my third week now, and things are getting a little better.

Well... things at work are a little better, things in my body, are hating me. After eating way too much on Sunday, and sitting outside Sunday evening, a nasty sore throat and running nose came about. Sort of better today, but not much sleep last night. Got to work even later today, after sleeping in, being really slow getting ready, taking library books back, buying fruit, and buying a new bike helmet. I'm not sure if my crusty old helmet is in Anthony's car, or lying on the ground near Urban Climb.

More than an hour at work, and I've read a lot, but not really done anything. I might just hit Publish, and be done with it.

Farewell crazy peoples

They Call Me Rocky.

Stupid burns. Note to self: stop being clumsy. I managed to lean on a drum heater at work yesterday, and now have second-degree burns to parts of my left palm. I've just avoided knocking it (I've got it covered), and been taking it easy (hiding inside) today.

It's raining, and I have insufficient rain-based hobbies. Especially when slightly injured.

Aw Jen, now I'm feeling guilty for being a lazy slacker and not posting random streams of conciousness on here. So I'm going to aim for a nice little, clear, mountain stream of conciousness flowing through a rainforest, possibly with some small cascades or something...

I get to see the Eels again in a week. This makes me a happy little frog. Unwritten Law and Millencolin were both good. But really, screamo bands as support for Millencolin? No bonus points there. Pepper as support for UL? Definite bonus points. Unfortunately though they'd sold out of normal-sized shirts for UL by the time I went to get one.

One thing about climbing lots and riding lots (>20km/day): All my pants are getting too big. Definitely not complaining though! And my baby's been serviced, so I'm riding again (I had nearly a week off).

I take it that it's largely just the 3 of us (Me, Elise and Jen) these days, and that everyone else is either too lazy or too good for us?

People need to suggest new bands for me to listen to. I'm not exactly short, but more is always good!
